Design of Endlessly Single Mode Photonic Crystal Fibers with Desirable Properties using HC-EDA Algorithm
In this article, Hill Climbing (HC) and Estimation of Distribution Algorithm (EDA) are integrated to produce a hybrid intelligent algorithm for design of endlessly Single Mode Photonic Crystal Fibers (SMPCFs) structure with desired properties over the C communication band. In order to analyzing the fiber components, Finite Difference Frequency Domain (FDFD) solver is applied. In addition, a spe...
متن کاملFirst results from the ISOCAM parallel mode
We present first results of a survey being made in a broad-band 6.75 m filter using the ISOCAM infrared camera in its parallel mode at 6" resolution. So far we have analysed a sky area of 1:375 deg2 down to a limiting flux of 5 mJy and detected a total of 287 objects. The final survey will cover a sky area of 33 deg2, most of which will be done in staring mode, to which we have restricted ourse...
متن کاملMicrochannels in conventional single-mode fibers.
Microchannels are fabricated into conventional single-mode fibers by femtosecond laser processing and chemical etching. Fabrication limitations imposed by the fiber geometry are highlighted and resolved through a simple technique without compromising fabrication flexibility. A microfluidic fiber device consisting of a 4 microm wide microchannel that intersects the fiber core for refractive inde...
متن کاملPolarization-mode interferometry in birefringent single-mode fibers.
An interferometric technique was used to investigate the relative phase delay between polarization modes in birefringent single-mode fibers. Polarization-mode dispersion is directly deduced from the measurements of relative phase delay at different wavelengths. Relative group delays of 20 fsec can be measured in meter-length samples without the need for light-polarizing devices.
متن کاملPolarization coupling in single-mode single-polarization optical fibers.
Polarization coupling in single-mode, single-polarization optical fibers is investigated, and a set of coupled-mode equations for single-mode, single-polarization fibers including guided and leaky modes is derived.
